“Q” TEXAS BBQ
SMOKEHOUSE

HOUSTON (IAH) AIRPORT

Everything is bigger in Texas.

Have a layover at Houston’s George Bush Intercontinental Airport? Treat yourself to some spectacular Texas barbecue at “Q” – IAH airport’s new favorite barbecue spot; headed by renowned Houston pitmaster Greg Gatlin.

While you wait for your food, be sure to check out the décor – courtesy of Houston Chrome. New York-based OTG Hospitality Group, the company in charge of concept and design for “Q”, came to Spectra Chrome looking to replicate a copper patina look on huge pieces of plastic, metal, and aluminum piping.

This was a big job, with more than 3,000 square feet of surface to cover. So Spectra Chrome turned it over to one of our best applicators – Houston Chrome – and the results are simply stunning. That’s the beauty and versatility of Spectra Chrome – the final finish can look perfect with a high-gloss mirror finish; or in this case, it can even be made to appear like patina-aged copper.

Don’t let their name fool you – Houston Chrome sprays Spectra Chrome finishes for clients far beyond just the Lone Star State. They are now putting unique finishes on projects shipped in directly to their shop – destined for high-profile applications all over the globe. Visit houstonchrome.com to learn more!

Project Details

The ability to apply a reflective metal finish over non-conductive surfaces afforded tremendous savings in build costs for the client; enabling the use of plastic parts where solid metal parts would have usually been required. OTG Hospitality Group is now incorporating Spectra Chrome finishes in numerous other restaurant concepts.
