Diversify your powder coating operation – offer your customers a brilliant, chrome-like mirror finish with Spectra Chrome!
That’s just what we did for the $700 million expansion of the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Tampa, Florida. The project called for several hundred interior architectural elements – including laser-cut aluminum hexagons, and welded aluminum wall frames and shelving structures.

Metalcraft Services of Tampa, Florida had no problems producing the aluminum parts, but finding someone to turn them chrome was a different story. There is no tank plating company on the planet that could chrome parts this large and complicated in shape. With Spectra Chrome, there are no size limitations!
When painting raw metals like aluminum, it is industry standard to apply a metal etching primer first. The intricate design of these aluminum parts made traditional painting very challenging. Spectra Chrome can be applied directly over powder coating – so we decided to powder coat the raw aluminum first; and use powder coating as the etching primer.
