“It was the only way we could chrome something this big!” says the set director for Sony Pictures. In the third installment of the franchise, Men in Black 3 flashes back to the year 1969. Using the technology back then, your mind was erased by sitting inside a 28-foot neuralyzer, instead of using the familiar pocket-sized models used in earlier movies.

We pulled off this massive project under a tight production schedule – all of the chroming was completed within two days. After seeing the amazing neuralyzer finish, the art directors decided to have dozens of additional props coated the same way!
